Driver airlifted after solo vehicle collision on Camino Tassajara Friday night

BLACKHAWK – A driver was airlifted to a local trauma center Friday night after a solo vehicle collision into a tree resulted in major injuries.

According to Sgt. Rashid of the CHP Dublin Office, at 11:27 Friday night, officers were dispatched to a report of a car vs. tree collision on Camino Tassajara near Blackhawk Drive.

When officers arrived, firefighter paramedics with the San Ramon Valley Fire Protection District and deputies with the Contra Costa Sheriff’s Office were at the scene.

Paramedics extricated a male driver, 20 – 25 years of age, from the vehicle before he was airlifted to a local trauma center with major injuries.

Rashid said the vehicle is a BMW sedan that struck the tree on its left side. Speed is a factor in the collision but Rashid said it is too early in the investigation to determine the involvement of other factors.
