Danville ‘Follow Robbery’ Linked to Klap Street Gang

MARTINEZ – Prosecutors allege the Klap street gang directed an 18-year-old robbery suspect to follow a victim to their destination and rob them of a Rolex watch at gunpoint.

On Tuesday, prosecutors revealed Leon Fountain was directed by the Klap street gang to conduct an armed robbery of Rolex jewelry that occurred in a Danville parking lot on Railroad Avenue earlier this month.

Fountain and a juvenile allegedly conducted the armed ‘follow robberies’ in Walnut Creek (June 24th) and Danville (July 1st).

In both incidents, the perpetrators followed their victims in vehicles until they reached their destination. When they exited the vehicle, Fountain and the juvenile surrounded the victim at gunpoint and demanded they hand over the Rolex watches.

The suspects allegedly used an illegal AR-style firearm and other guns to commit the robbery. Prosecutors estimate the Rolex watches taken during the robberies are worth $30,000 to $40,000 each.

Prosecutors also allege the Danville robbery had gang involvement, “The robbery in Danville was carried out at the direction of the Klap street gang, who also told Fountain where to sell the watch.”

The District Attorney’s Office filed charges against Fountain, including three felonies with several enhancements related to the use of a firearm and gang involvement. The juvenile, whose name was not revealed, is charged with second-degree robbery.

The July 1st robbery in Danville was one of two ‘follow robberies’ that occurred within a two-week period. The other armed robbery in which the suspects and a resident exchanged gunfire, remains under investigation.

This is a result of voting for politicians that are soft on crime. Fix the root of the problem… The education system and work on family values. Provide parenting classes so people can help teach their kids right from wrong. Provide incentive programs to encourage kids to do the right things. Take responsibility for your children.

Don’t blame the politicians. 56% of the people in this county voted to reelect Diana Becton.
