Danville: Town Meeting Hall to Receive Commemorative Plaque

DANVILLE – Members of the community are invited to come out on June 8, 2018 to honor one of the Town of Danville’s historic buildings with a new commemorative plaque.

The members of the Heritage Resource Commission, Town Council, and Town staff will be on hand to unveil the new plaque commemorating the history of the First Presbyterian Church of Danville, 201 Front Street. The site is currently the location of the Danville Town Meeting Hall.

Town of Danville Principal Planner David Crompton said the plaque for the First Presbyterian Church of Danville continues a series of dedications designed to highlight the rich architectural history to be found throughout Danville.

“Many of the buildings in Danville have a deep backstory that is intrinsic to the fabric of the Town,” Crompton said. “The plaques provide a sense of place and the historical context of these sites.”

The presentation of the new plaque is set for 4:00 p.m., June 8, 2018, at 201 Front St.
