Accidental Fecal Release (AFR) incident closes Danville Pool

DANVILLE – Town officials announced Monday that the pool at San Ramon Valley High School would be closed for 24 hours following an Accidental Fecal Release, or AFR.

Spokesperson Geoff Gillette said the closure is in accordance with county AFR regulations that requires the pool to be closed for 24 hours to allow staff to clean the pool and filter the water. Swim classes and lap swimming were canceled Monday.

The closure could muddy the water for residents hoping to use the pool to escape the heat, but Gillette said pool is scheduled to reopen Tuesday morning at 9am.
