Suspect evades police in San Ramon ravine after pursuit

DANVILLE- A suspect evaded officers after police pursued a vehicle he was driving at up to 90 MPH Wednesday.

At approximately 6:50 pm Wednesday, an officer with the Danville Police Department attempted to stop a vehicle on San Ramon Valley Boulevard near Sycamore Valley Road.

According to police spokesperson Geoff Gillette, the officer observed the driver commit a minor traffic violation.

The vehicle failed to stop for the officer, and a pursuit was initiated southbound San Ramon Valley Boulevard toward the town limits.

The officer lost sight of the vehicle after the chase reached 90 MPH near In-N-Out in San Ramon. He quickly located the vehicle in the rear parking lot of Thorup Lane off San Ramon Valley Blvd (in San Ramon).

The passenger of the vehicle was detained and officers, with the help of a San Ramon Police K9, searched a ravine adjacent to the parking lot.

The driver was not located. According to a source, the registered owner of the vehicle has as many as four warrants for his arrest.

No arrests were made, Gillette said.
