Sheriff’s Office investigating series of burglaries in Blackhawk

BLACKHAWK – The Contra Costa Sheriff’s Office says they are investigating three burglaries that were reported this month in Blackhawk, totaling eight burglaries in the community this summer.

Three residences in the upscale gated community were burglarized on Friday, August 4th, according to a Sheriff’s Office spokesperson. The homeowners were not home at the time of the burglaries.

Investigators say all three victim homes were located adjacent to the Blackhawk Falls Golf Course. It appears the suspects gained entry into the residences through the rear of each home.

In a separate incident in late July, Deputies were dispatched to a report of an alarm activation at a residence on Blackhawk Drive. Deputies arrived and found that a rear door showed signs of forced entry. The Danville Police Department’s K9 team responded and attempted to locate a possible suspect with a police canine. No suspect was located.

The Sheriff’s Office is reminding residents to lock their doors and windows, use alarm systems if they have one, and to report any suspicious people to law enforcement.

Investigators also released surveillance photos of two suspects they believe are responsible for the August 4th burglaries. In one photo, one suspect appears to be pushing a waste bin.

Anyone with any information on the identity of these suspects or on these cases is asked to contact the Office of the Sheriff Investigation Division at (925) 335-2600.
