Carjacking Suspect Arrested in San Ramon

Officers from the San Ramon Police Department were dispatched to a report of a carjacking from the Safeway on Bollinger Canyon Rd at approximately 2:40 a.m., Saturday morning. The suspect, a white male in his 20s, reportedly brandished a 9mm pistol in his waistband during the carjacking.

After the victim contacted police, responding officers observed a vehicle matching the description of the victim’s vehicle traveling west-bound on Bollinger Canyon Road. As the suspect made a u-turn to go east-bound, officers conducted a traffic stop and took the suspect into custody without incident.

Witnesses told police that the suspect had arrived in a red SUV (possibly a RAV-4), occupied by two unknown description passengers with a hispanic female passenger. San Ramon Police asked all surrounding agencies to be on the lookout for the vehicle.
