San Ramon Police Arrest Carjacking Suspect

The San Ramon Police Department announced Thursday evening that they had apprehended a suspect allegedly carjacking a victim in the parking lot of a San Ramon Safeway. Read the original story about Tuesday’s carjacking here.

Police say 24 year-old San Lorenzo resident Johnny Edward Orta Ciccotti was taken into custody at his residence early this afternoon for his involvement in Tuesday’s armed carjacking incident. He is being charged with robbery, carjacking and violation of probation.

According to police, Ciccotti is being held at the Martinez Detention Facility without bail.

It is unknown if police recovered the stolen vehicle or cell phone taken during the incident.
