Fire Department Extinguishes Abandoned Home Fire in San Ramon

At approximately 6:30 p.m. this evening, the San Ramon Valley Fire Protection District received a report of a house on fire near Bollinger Canyon Rd, just north of Crow Canyon Road.

The caller who reported the fire told dispatchers that the home was abandoned, but it was unknown if squatters were the cause of the fire. Arriving firefighters found a house fully engulfed in flames, and immediately established a “relay pump” system, consisting of multiple fire engines and numerous hoses to get water from a fire hydrant to the remote property.

Approximately 20 minutes later, around 6:50 p.m. that evening, firefighters declared that they had extinguished the blaze, and immediately requested that a fire investigator respond to the scene. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
