Annual Run for Education Scheduled for Sunday – Rain or Shine!

SAN RAMON – Come rain or shine, the 33rd Annual Run for Education will take place starting at 8 a.m. this Sunday, October 16, 2016. The San Ramon Valley Education Foundation’s Run for Education is the largest community-wide event in the San Ramon Valley. On Saturday, October 15, 2016, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. there is also a Health & Wellness Expo that includes a Mini Run for preschoolers at 4 p.m. at Iron Horse Middle School.

Race day includes a 5k Fun Run, a 5k and a 10k (both certified by the USA Track and Field). Both 5ks start at 8:15 a.m. Iron Horse Middle School (12601 Alcosta Boulevard, San Ramon). The 10k starts at 8 a.m. at Charlotte Wood Middle School (600 El Capitan Drive, Danville).

Thousands of participants, volunteers and spectators from all 36 San Ramon Valley Unified School District (SRVUSD) schools, will be out on Sunday, representing the communities of Alamo, Danville and San Ramon. It is the largest run that supports education in Northern California with over 8,000 participants annually.

The Run for Education is the primary fund-raising activity for the San Ramon Valley Education Foundation (SRVEF), a non-profit organization that supports and promotes education in partnership with the San Ramon Valley Unified School District. Together with its 33 affiliates, SRVEF raises more than $7 million a year to support education.
