Live Jazz at Danville’s Village Theatre Set For November 20th

DANVILLE – Members of the community are invited to a wonderful night of fantastic music at the Village Theatre & Art Gallery.

Two phenomenal artists will be gracing the stage at the theatre to bring their craft to Danville.  Set for November 20, 2016, the evening will feature nationally acclaimed Bay Area jazz vocalist Eve Marie Shahoian with special guest artist two time Grammy Award winning violinist Mads Tolling.

In addition to performing well-loved jazz standards and contemporary favorites, singer and songwriter Eve Marie Shahoian will also debut orignal music from her new album BELIEVE, featuring collaborations with Mads Tolling. The pair will be joined by a jazz quartet for this special concert.

Shahoian has been singing since her youth, and, at age nine, performed two operatic arias on the classic Tonight Show with Johnny Carson. Her last album, Waiting for You, was honored by Billboard for “Outstanding Original Song” and was played internationally on all audio equipped Delta Airlines flights. She has performed with the Oakland Symphony and under the baton of Maestros Michael Morgan, Mazim Shostakovich, and the late Calvin Simmons.

Guest artist Mads Tolling, an internationally renowned violinist and composer, will share the stage with Eve Marie on November 20. He leads his own groups, Mads Tolling Quartet and Mads Men, both of which have performed around the world. Tolling has been featured on NPR’s Morning Edition and his recordings have received rave reviews in Downbeat Magazine, Strings Magazine, the Washington Post, and the San Francisco Chronicle. This year, he was the winner of the DownBeat Rising Star and Critics Poll for violin.

The concert takes place at 5:00 p.m.,  November 20, 2016 at the Village Theatre & Art Gallery, 233 Front Street. Tickets are $25.
