Officials Investigating Suspicious Fire in Danville

At approximately 4:31 p.m. Tuesday, the San Ramon Valley Fire Protection District responded to a report of smoke coming from a residence on Podva Rd in Danville.

Arriving firefighters found an abandoned house fully engulfed in flames, and began to attack the fire with water. They were immediately alerted to the presence of a large “well” on the first floor of the residence, complete with a 10 foot drop.

Firefighters were able to get the fire extinguished twenty minutes later despite the hazard. The fire is being investigated as a possible arson.
